(3/16/2011) Mock Code - 3/21/2011 @ 0730 - This is expected to be the first of an ongoing series. The initial goal is to look at the layout of room 4 and consider some standardization of people and equipment placement based on concepts created in other hospitals. Anyone is welcome to come. Chris and Nadine are also looking at documentation for codes, its relationship to code review, and setting up goals for immediate post code review.
Particular goals of positioning people and equipment include getting the med cart near the foot of the bed, keeping airway equipment near the head, and assuring easy access for personnel around the bed. It has also been suggested that we consider looking at who goes in the room, how we identify everyone's role (especially the scribe), the location of the leader, and how we manage the rest of the ED during a code.
Where do we keep that?
Camera & Photo printer - the camera is in the Pyxis under EMS Keys, and the photo printer is in the providers ready room. The printer may be moved to a space in the ER so that the SANE nurses (as opposed to the rest of us), can have access to it. We'll post the change in location as soon as it is determined.
